How to upload receipts to a card transaction via email and SMS

You can upload receipts to your Loop card transactions using Manual Upload and/or SMS Receipt Matching. Both methods keep your expenses organized.

Overview

Attaching receipts to your Loop card transactions helps you keep accurate records and makes bookkeeping effortless.

Loop offers two simple options for uploading receipts:

  • Manual Upload: Attach receipts directly from your Dashboard.

  • SMS Receipt Matching: Text receipts from your phone for automatic matching.


Option 1: Manual Upload

Upload a receipt manually

  1. Go to Transactions → Cards in your Loop Dashboard.

  2. Select the transaction you want to upload a receipt for.

  3. In the transaction details pane, look for the Files section.

  4. Drag and drop your receipt file into the upload area or click to browse for a file.

  5. Once uploaded, your receipt will appear under the transaction details and will automatically sync with your accounting software.


Option 2: SMS Receipt Matching

SMS Receipt Matching automatically attaches receipts to the correct Loop card transactions — no manual upload needed.

When enabled, you’ll receive a text message every time you make a purchase with your Loop Card. Simply reply to the SMS with an image of your receipt, and Loop does the rest.

How to enable SMS Receipt Matching

Step 1: Confirm your phone number

  • Go to Settings → Personal.

  • Make sure your phone number is correct.

  • Update it if needed.

Step 2: Opt in to SMS notifications

  1. Go to Settings → Notifications → User Notification Settings.

  2. Enable SMS Notifications by checking the box.

Step 3: Reply with your receipt

  • Once enabled, you’ll receive SMS notifications for any transactions made with your Loop Card.

  • Simply reply to the text with a photo of your receipt.

Step 4: You’re done!

  • Loop will automatically match the receipt to the correct transaction.

  • You’ll see the receipt attached in your transaction details within seconds.

If the system can’t automatically match a receipt (e.g., if the image is blurry), you can still attach it manually by selecting “Select from unmatched receipts” in the transaction details pane.


FAQs

Can I email receipts instead of using SMS?

Currently, Loop supports manual uploads and SMS uploads. Email upload may be added in the future.

What if I reply to an SMS with the wrong receipt?

No problem — you can reattach the correct image manually under the Transaction. Just click on Unlink this receipt, and upload the correct one manually.

Will Loop notify me if a receipt doesn’t match automatically?

Yes — if a receipt can’t be matched, you’ll see it listed under Select from receipts uploaded via SMS for manual attachment.
