Overview
Your Loop Account makes it easy to issue Loop Global Visa cards for your business. Whether you’re paying for software, ads, travel, or everyday expenses, you can create cards that work anywhere Visa is accepted.
Loop offers two options:
Loop Global Visa Credit Card – a multi-currency credit card available upon approval.
Account-Linked Card (ALC) – a flexible option that spends directly from your available Loop Account balances.
You can issue both virtual and physical cards:
Virtual Cards: Great for online payments such as ads, SaaS, and subscriptions.
Physical Cards: Ideal for in-person purchases and travel.
This guide walks you through how to open your first card and choose the right setup for your business.
Step 1: Go to the Home Section
Log in to your Loop Dashboard.
Select Cards from the sidebar.
Click View Cards to see your existing cards.
In the top-right corner, click Create Card.
You can also create a card straight from your Home Page using the Create Card button.
Step 2: Choose Your Card Type
When creating a card, you’ll choose how purchases are funded:
Link to Credit Limit – select this if you’ve been approved for the Loop Global Visa Credit Card. Purchases are charged to your available credit balance and paid off later.
Link to Loop Wallet – select this to create an Account-Linked Card (ALC), which withdraws purchases directly from your Loop Account balances.
If you haven’t been approved for credit yet, start with an Account-Linked Card. It offers full Visa functionality and global acceptance, even without a credit limit.
Settlement Options for Account-Linked Cards
When setting up an ALC, you can choose how transactions are withdrawn from your balances:
Multi-Currency Option: Withdraws the purchase amount from the available balance in the same currency as the transaction.
If there’s no balance in that currency, Loop will withdraw from balances in this order:
CAD → USD → EUR → GBP.
There must be enough in one of these accounts to cover the transaction in full for it to go through.
This option is ideal if you plan to make purchases in multiple currencies.
Single-Currency Option: Withdraws funds only from the selected currency account (for example, CAD).
Purchases made in other currencies will automatically be converted into that currency at the time of settlement.
Step 3: Select Virtual or Physical
Next, choose your preferred card format:
Virtual Card: Best for online or recurring payments.
Physical Card: Perfect for in-person spending or travel.
If you choose a physical card, you’ll be asked to:
Create a PIN.
Enter your shipping address.
Step 4: Complete Setup
Name your card (e.g., Marketing Ads or Team Travel).
Review your funding and currency settings.
Click Create Card to finish setup.
Virtual cards are issued instantly.
Physical cards are shipped to your chosen address within a few business days.
Tips
The number of cards you can create depends on your Loop Plan.
You can freeze, rename, or cancel cards anytime from your dashboard.
Account-Linked Cards are ideal for flexible, balance-based spending before or without a credit limit.
Once you’re approved for credit, you can also use the Loop Global Visa Credit Card for extended payment terms.
